Then, there’s that temptation that maybe it is true. “We live in a society that’s very stressful,” Cabot said, “and there’s something alluring about being able to read about something that isn’t true. ![]() “I started writing the Mediator series back in 2000, so it was one of the early ones,” said Cabot. Sometimes, I would start to wonder myself, ‘Did they see a ghost?’ I started believing.” And so was born her now-famed Mediator series. We did have a high incident of death in a population that young with suicides and accidental deaths. The building was very, very old, and they had a high population of students. How did Cabot get interested in writing paranormal romance? “I was working in a dorm at NYU, and we had some students who thought they saw a ghost. ![]()
